Description

This full year course will support pre-service teachers to identify their personal values, beliefs and attitudes and discuss how these may impact on their emerging identity as a teacher. The pre-service teachers will be supported to develop an emerging understanding of the tensions between personal and professional identities within the teaching profession. The dimensions of hauora well-being including tinana, wairua, hinengaro, whanau and whakapapa are explored and understood in the wider context of the professional sector of early childhood education. There are five teaching practice placement days that are part of the workload for this course. Students are required to attend these days.
