Weaving the Curriculum: Science and Technology

Description

This course supports pre-service teacher development of curriculum knowledge and pedagogy of teaching science and technology in schools in Aotearoa New Zealand. Pre-service teachers explore science and technology education through engagement in future focussed themes and issued situated in authentic contexts, local curriculum, and Matauranga Maori and Matauranga-a-iwi. Pre-service teachers will successfully plan, resource, implement, assess and evaluate the learning areas of science and technology while learning strategies for integrating and connecting these learning areas to other curriculum areas. The course will complement learning in other courses in the BTchLn (Primary), including Professional Practice.
