This course investigates ways to connect curriculum within mathematics, English and literacy, and with other learning areas. The course continues to build evidence-based pedagogical knowledge and practices for English, literacy and mathematics. This course supports students to develop their knowledge, understanding, practical and critical thinking skills through engagement with relevant research and practice.
On the successful completion of AKOP351 students will be able to: 1. Analyse and critique purposes, principles and processes of an interconnected curriculum including Mātauranga Māori. 2. Explain and apply a deep understanding of pedagogies and practices in English, Literacy, and Mathematics when designing learning 3. Critically analyse evidence informed practices for connecting English, Literacy and Mathematics with other learning areas.
