Description

The main objective of this course is to familiarise the students with the content domain of Leadership in organisations. A historic overview of the main Leadership theories is provided and integrated with contemporary research. These theories are also discussed in relation to their application to current challenges and as opportunities for leaders and employees to engage with leadership development.

Learning Outcomes

  • By the end of this course, you should:

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of seminal leadership theories, and be able to expand on traditional leadership frameworks, contemporary western models and theories of leadership, and indigenous leadership models.
  • Critically evaluate the quality of and biases in published leadership research, attending to multiple interpretive lenses and perspectives.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the applications and limitations of leadership research to organisational practice.
  • Integrate and apply knowledge of leadership research to practical workplace situations while considering its limitations and applications to the future of work.
