Description

This course extends the psychological knowledge and skills taught in Year 1, with a particular focus on application to complex presentations in Child and Family Psychology. Students will develop their professional competencies relating to assessment and formulation, including integration of complex information in formulation, and effective and collaborative intervention planning with children and whanau. Students will develop an understanding of how to apply this knowledge and skills across a range of settings and systems relevant to Child and Family Psychology. Assessment includes an Ecological analysis, and a comprehensive exam, in which successful students will demonstrate the breadth of their knowledge and skills relevant to professional practice in Child and Family Psychology. Cultural responsiveness and te Tiriti o Waitangi are integrated into teaching and learning and assessment activities.
