In order to pass the course, passes in BOTH the laboratory and written parts are necessary. Therefore in order to be ELIGIBLE for a pass if you sit the final two-hour examination in June, a satisfactory performance is required at laboratory sessions.
The 7th Edition is acceptable and a number of copies are held on reserve in the Physical Sciences Library. The bookshop sells the text to students at a discounted price. [The study guide to Chang is also available at the bookshop, however, the Problems Manual which you will receive when you purchase your laboratory manual should provide sufficient exercises and supplementary material for most students.]
