An introduction to postgraduate-level research in Cultural Studies. Assessment will be entirely through a 10,000word research essay. At enrolment, students will present a one-page outline of the research proposed. By late March, they will present a full research proposal developed with their supervisor, with a detailed bibliography, list of resources, and an outline structured in short chapters. In the final essay, students will produce original findings in the field of analysis, but there will also be emphasis on the scholarly composition of bibliography and resource usage.

Subject to approval of the Programme Director.
This is a two-semester paper. Students will meet with their assigned supervisor normally fortnightly and at least monthly. There will also be monthly seminar meetings, in which students will present and discuss progress on their research.
