This course introduces students to the fundamentals of analogue electronics via DIY audio products and experimental music-making. Students will learn how to read circuit diagrams, solder components, build simple audio circuits such as guitar pedals or mini synthesizers, and creatively engage with sound through their self-built instruments. Students will also explore the relationship between electronics and music aesthetics, including design of their product. The course also teaches troubleshooting, musical experimentation, and creative composition with handmade electronic devices preparing students for confident usage and creation of music soundscapes with audio equipment.
Any 60 points at 100 level from the Schedule V of the BDigiScreen(Hons) or Schedule V of the BA.
