This course looks at the nature, prevalence, causes, education and treatment of common childhood disorders and disabilities.
To develop an understanding of the causes, characteristics, diagnostic processes, diagnostic classifications, incidence, prevalence, and developmental course of children with different disorders, and skills in accessing appropriate and current information about these disorders.To develop an understanding of the different theoretical perspectives underlying different approaches to the disorders of childhood.To develop an understanding of an ecological transactional model of impacts on children and adolescents with disorders arising in the developmental period.
