This course introduces contemporary, research-based perspectives on teaching, learning and communication in the mathematical sciences. Students will examine the benefits and drawbacks of traditional and emerging approaches to mathematics learning, with a focus on methods that promote both excellence and equity. Students will also learn about effective communication of mathematical sciences information to non-specialists in multi-disciplinary professional settings.
