Participants will critically examine leadership theories in the research literature in order to justify their own approaches to leadership practice including the key features of Maori and Pasifika leadership practice. The course includes strategies for identifying learning needs as a leader and how to help others see potential for engaging in leadership work.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:Articulate the qualities/ characteristics of leaders of learning including the key features of Maori and Pasifika leadership practice.Identify personal strengths and set goals for further development as a leader.use and justify a selected theoretical framework from a nominated journal article to critique the leadership practice of a particular case.Develop strategies with course members for supporting and growing the leadership capacity of other staff.
