Professional Studies is a core compulsory component of the BTchLn and consists of a series of courses which are designed to assist students to identify and meet professional needs. EDPS152 has a focus on understanding how children learn and how teachers can manage this process.
By the end of the course, successful students will be able to:Use the design process to plan, implement, assess and evaluate children’s learningDemonstrate and justify the sharing of learning intentions with a group/class in at least three essential learning areasIdentify and use simple classroom management strategies consistent with a range of approaches to teaching and learningDemonstrate a range of appropriate questioning sequences that challenge children’s thinkingUse observation data and their knowledge of children’s devlopment to document, analyse and report on classroom routines and children’s learningDemonstrate an understanding of a range of Models of Teaching based on current research findings
