This is a 300 level compulsory course which focuses on integrating and applying the theoretical knowledge of BTchLn courses in early childhood centre settings, and provides the opportunity for knowledge to be applied in a holistic way. The course is closely linked to Professional Studies 3. Associate teachers assist the College to assess students' developing competence as a teacher.
By the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:1 Demonstrate professional attributes at a satisfactory level or above.2 Demonstrate development towards achieving year 3 competencies.3 Demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on their teaching experiences.4 Demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities of the early childhood professional in recognising and honouring the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. 5 Identify goals and strategies for continuing to develop the professional attributes and competencies for EDTP374.
