This is a 300 level compulsory course which focuses on integrating and applying the theoretical knowledge of courses in the BTchLn in early childhood centres. The course is closely linked to Professional Studies 3. Students will demonstrate effective self-management and the full range of professional qualities and competencies necessary in a beginning early childhood teacher.
By the conclusion of the course, students will be able to:1 Achieve all professional attributes consistently at a level expected of a beginning teacher.2 Achieve all Year 3 competencies consistently at a level expected of a beginning teacher. 3 Critically reflect on personal involvement in all areas of competence throughout the professional practice. 4 Demonstrate an understanding of the responsibilities of the early childhood professional in recognising and honouring the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.5 Demonstrate commitment to professional growth by setting and achieving professional goals.
