The research portfolio is the first part of the Doctor of Education (EDD) programme. The course is taught part-time over two years / four semesters. Students will develop the academic skills to identify a doctoral thesis topic, and formulate a research proposal appropriate for this level of study. Over the semesters students explore four interconnected areas of development: Literature Review; Analytical / contextual Project; Methodological Project; and Research Proposal, each informing and extending the students’ area of interest. Throughout the course students develop the critical application of cultural competence and confidence in the process of mahi rangahau / research development and design in accordance with living and working in a bicultural Aotearoa.
