Laboratory and pilot-plant experiments, design and analysis of experiments using statistical methods, and computational tools useful for analysing data.
Laboratory and pilot-plant experiments, design and analysis of experiments using statistical methods, and computational tools useful for analysing data. This is a compulsory course for Chemical and Process Engineering. This course builds on the skills acquired in second year chemical engineering laboratories, extending the range of reporting, allowing the student to take more initiative, and generally increasing the size of the plant used to pilot scale. The experiments are related to other ENCH 300 series courses currently being studied.
Practical demonstration of hardware, concepts and phenomena in relation to the broader context of a process engineering system.Solve open ended chemical engineering problems by researching, designing, planning and conducting experiments.Gather, manage, interpret and use experimental information appropriately.Effective communication using a variety of formats to a variety of audiences.Function effectively in a team environment by working cooperatively with your lab partner
ENCH295
Students must attend one activity from each section.
• 6 laboratory days with contact time 3-6 hours each, time of report preparation 10-25 hours for different report styles, total 130 hours• Lecture attendance (approximately 15 hours)

During the course you will attend all 6 labs in small groups. Reports are to be written individually, unless otherwise explicitly specified by the course coordinator / lab coordinator. All labs must be carried out adequately, and all lab reports must be submitted to complete the course. 50% of your grade will be deducted for a late submission.
All information about academic policies (e.g. special consideration, dishonest practice) can be found on the ENCH-Undergraduate LEARN page.
Must attend all labs.
