Description

Laboratory and pilot-plant experiments, design and analysis of experiments using statistical methods, and computational tools useful for analysing data.

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Formal Report 26% full experiment including a research component, in which experience drawn from a previous experiment and reports of other students who have done the same experiment are used to improve on that experiment in some fashion. First draft two weeks following the lab, then draft back with corrections after oral presentation in the 5th week of the 4th term (5-9 Oct). Final report to be submitted on Wednesday 14th Oct
Report 24% 2 x managment reports- due 1 week following the lab each worth 12%
Report and Poster 18% poster is on A3 sheet, large print, brevity, clarity and presentation important (Report due one week following the lab, additional 3 days to handle poster in)
Same-day Report 12%
Final Exam 20%
