Advanced concrete materials.
This is a post graduate course which involves an advanced study on the properties and uses of concrete as a construction material with an examination of concrete technology, advanced binder systems, durability, repairs and practical applications.
This course will provide students with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of concrete materials through a combination of; lectures, where concepts are introduced; research reports, and finally a laboratory to demonstrate the real performance of the material.
Subject to approval of Programme Director.
Students must attend one activity from each section.
This course builds on the material taught in ENCN221.

The assessment for this paper will comprise three components – final exam, an assignment/presentation on Life 365, and an assignment on high performance or novel cementitious materials. The final exam may be an oral exam or written.
