To introduce students to:- Environmental engineering particularly as it relates to water and wastewater quality;- Fundamental environmental engineering concepts such as environmental kinetics, mass balances and contaminant behaviour in the environment (reactor hydraulics);- Systems theory, ecosystem structure and dynamics;- Process concepts for waste and wastewater treatment;- Solid and hazard waste management; and- Principles of air pollution management and control
