ENGR100 is a core course for all first year Engineering students. Students must enrol and pass ENGR100 in order to be considered for a place in second year Engineering. A core component of this course is the Academic Writing Assessment scheduled in Week 2 of Semester 1. This test will assess students’ ability to write academically. Students who do not meet the standard will be given feedback and writing workshops to help them reach the required level. There are other scheduled opportunities to attempt the assessment again in the year should students need to re-sit. This course also provides students with pastoral support in the form of EngMe sessions run by senior engineering students to ensure a smooth adjustment to UC Engineering.
This course will not be offered if fewer than 10 people apply to enrol.
