Description

A course for students advancing in Engineering programmes that requires in-depth analysis of components and structures, ENGR102 reinforces concepts of free-body diagrams and the mechanics of real life applications (both statics and dynamics).

Learning Outcomes

Draw free-body diagrams and develop/solve equations of equilibrium for rigid body problems in 2D and 3D (Washington Accord WA1)

Calculate internal forces and support reactions for rigid-body structures composed of simple trusses, frames, and machines (Washington Accord WA1)

Use methods of classical mechanics to solve simple engineering problems involving rigid-body dynamics (Washington Accord WA1)

Develop and analyse the equations of motion for simple rigid body structures (Washington Accord WA1)
