Special Topic: English Language Support for International Learners

This course develops the academic, professional, and intercultural communication capabilities required for success in postgraduate programmes. It is designed specifically for international students and those using English as an additional language. Through a personalised learning project, students identify their academic and professional communication goals, design and implement a plan for targeted improvement, and reflect on their learning journey. The course focuses on developing confidence, self-regulated learning skills, and professional English fluency in both academic and workplace contexts. Successful completion of ENGR400 ensures students are well-prepared to undertake PACE490 (Professional and Community Engagement Internship) and engage effectively in New Zealand workplace environments.
