Computer control architecture and components, transducers and interfaces, actuators, programmable logic controllers, instrumentation techniques, data acquisition, supervisory control.
The cross coded courses are designed to cater for engineering students from different majors – electrical, mechanical, and mechatronics, and others. They have the same set of lectures, but different labs / project.
The courses aim to introduce students to principles, techniques and design aspects of instrumentation and measurement. At the end of courses, students will:Understand instrumentation basicsUnderstand sensing techniques and their applicationsAbility to analyse measurement data and uncertaintyUnderstand instrumentation techniques through laboratories. Understand signal conditioning and processing techniques Ability to apply instrumentation techniques to system modelling and control
