Description

Mechanical engineers are increasingly involved with the design of embedded systems. This new focus provides an opportunity for all Mechanical engineers to play a greater role in the development of embedded systems. This course is part of a suite of courses providing mechanical engineers the skillset to play a larger role in the design of embedded systems. Specifically, this course will teach electronics and power components of embedded systems. Students will be able to design, critique, and communicate complete embedded power systems. Students will gain an understanding of switching and linear power supplies, comprehensive time-varying power budgets, thermal power considerations, and the ability to research specific implementations of power systems.
