In this course students will explore and experience the creation of artwork specific for children's literature. Over five weeks, students will create a picture book, learning the skills, practices and stages of illustration for children's literature. We will trace the vast and rich history of children’s books, inquire into contemporary practices and developments within the publishing industry, understand a range of media and techniques available, and critically analyse the role and possibilities of visual representation within children's literature.
