Description

Illustration Mediums involves deep experimentation with media and processes for the creation of illustration. The matter of materials is approached with curiosity and openness for discovery, attending to the unexpected ways different media combine and alchemise to express emotion, atmosphere and story. The course will involve hands-on studio time engaging with a range of media, including ink, pencil, paint, crayons, digital, screen printing, collage, multi-media, and techniques for scanning, colour correction, colour palette and masking. We will also look closely at matter and media from different cultural perspectives and practices, both historical, traditional and contemporary. Emphasis will be given to students exploring and clarifying their unique artistic vision, understanding their authorial voice within textures and materials.
