Description

Illustration Research Project supports students to work independently on a short, creative-practice research project based on a topic related to their interest and studies. The project asks students to set a creative brief for themselves in the form of a research proposal, undertake their project, and then write up their findings. It is expected that students will work independently with minimal supervision during this low-contact course. Students will be encouraged to engage with practice-based, autoethnographic and arts-based methodologies, with the intent to critically analyse and reflect upon their creative practice and desired direction of visual work situated within contemporary illustration practice and the broader political, cultural and social environment. Students will produce a 6,000 word research summary and a completed visual work, as specified in their initial research proposal.
