Description

This course is designed to be an introduction to Health Education in school and community settings. Students will examine both the historical and contemporary underpinnings of Health Education. The course offers a strong focus on effective practice in Health Education, including recognition of determinants of health and how Health Education can be put to work to develop knowledge, understandings and skills in order to navigate the complexities of our 21st century world. Students have opportunities to put into practice key ideas from the course through session planning and facilitation.

Workshop tasks 30% Three workshop tasks that connect to the respective weeks' learning, each worth 10%. Due 8, 15 and 22 March 2024.
Session planning, facilitation, reflection 45% Facilitation in workshop Wed 1 or Fri 3 May. Planning and reflection due Sunday 5 May.
Critical evaluation of an issue relating to health education 31 May 2024 25%
