Description

What can students do with their studies in Health Sciences? The course is designed to be a critical, theoretical, and real world examination of the practices and ideologies inherent in the delivery of health programmes in a range of settings. Students will apply the knowledge and skills developed in previous courses to a project developed in collaboration with external health providers.

Prerequisites

Any 60 points at 200 level from any subject including HLTH203 and MAOR270 and subject to approval by Course Coordinator.

Assessment

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
SWOT analysis, PDP and project plan 20% Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats analysis, personal development plan, and project plan. Due week three of semester.
Progress report 20% A progress report around the half way point of the internship (once you've completed 30-35 hours) which involves explaining your progress to-date, next steps for the internship, and reflective writing about your experience. Due date flexible depending on internship progress.
Final report 40% A final report that summarises your internship experience, including the material produced for your workplace and reflective writing about your experience. Due one week into the exam period.
Workplace supervisor evaluation and communication with lecturer 20% Supervisor evaluation form. Attending the three course lectures, keeping the lecturer(s) up-to-date with your internship, responding to emails or requests to meet etc. Due one week into the exam period.

Domestic fee $1,036.00

International fee $5,188.00

This course will not be offered if fewer than 20 people apply to enrol.
