Individual Course of Study: Independent research essay for students with a demonstrated ability to progress to postgraduate research study and thesis writing. Enrolling students must have a B+ grade average. They are expected to see a lecturer in the School to develop a project with a supervisor and proposal.
As part of the successful completion of this course, you will:1. Critically engage with, and form considered opinions on, issues pertaining to the health of Māori and Indigenous peoples;2. Increase your understanding of the historical, philosophical, social, cultural, political, global and environmental factors impacting on the health of Māori and Indigenous peoples;3. Gain an understanding of Māori and Indigenous peoples' patterns and aspirations in re-asserting self-determination in the contemporary era; and4. Demonstrate appropriate research, analytical and written communication skills.
