The course will be taught collaboratively with the National Addiction Centre (Department of Psychological Medicine, Christchurch School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Otago).  By the end of HLTH430/630/PSMX430 course, students will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of theory relating to motivating behaviour change, demonstrate an understanding of the principles of motivational interviewing and demonstrate an ability to apply the principles of motivational interviewing in practice.
