Description

This course provides advanced training in motivating behaviour change, including theory, research and practice, with particular emphasis on motivational interviewing.

Prerequisites

Subject to approval of the Director, Health Sciences Centre, and HLTH430 or HLTH630

Timetable Note

This course will comprise:
five seminars (usually Mon a.m.) or two one-day workshops (Mon), depending on class size.  The focus will be on specific applications of motivational interviewing and skill development.
Clinical field work in an approved clinical placement.

The dates for HLTH431 will be organised depending on class size and composition (Christchurch-based or distance learning).
