Description

Artificial Intelligence is transforming our world, giving power to organisations, individuals and machines. This course overviews AI technologies and techniques in the context of specific business objectives, models and industries. By analysing the latest innovative use cases, the course will provide insights into the opportunities, business and society impacts and implications of AI. Students will apply their knowledge to a real life organisation to develop a business case and an implementation plan for an AI based solution.

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of the course, the students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of AI concepts and their business applications;
2. Identify potential opportunities for strategic advantage for specific AI techniques in a business context;
3. Design and propose AI solutions;
4. Evaluate the technical and business benefits, costs and risks of AI technologies in a specific business application;
5. Discuss the impact of AI applications at the individual, organisational and society level;
6. Critically evaluate and discuss the impact of AI solutions within the bicultural Aotearoa | New Zealand and Pacific context.
