This course is designed for students wishing to study selected issues in resource management law and sustainability. The course focuses on the Resource Management Act 1991, and investigates various statutory provisions in the Act as they relate to contemporary issues. This year, there are many contemporary issues from which to choose. I have selected some very relevant ones from which a student can gain a thorough understanding of the way the Resource Management Act 1991 operates. The course is not designed to be a formal note-writing session of two hours a week. Wherever possible, it will be run on a seminar-type basis. Discussion is greatly encouraged. Students are also encouraged to use this course to advance their research skills. The Library staff will help you find research project material. At least one guest lecturer is involved.
By the end of the course, it is hoped that students have gained an invaluable insight into the Act’s process and into its complexity. This will be invaluable in any law firm.
