Aimed at experienced performers this course explores the main elements of moteatea, waiata-a-ringa, poi and haka, while introducing mau rakau (taiaha, patu and tewhatewha) and taonga puoro (purerehua, hue, putatara, pukaea, koauau and putorino) to emphasise performance based kapa haka, including composing, planning sets, achieving balance between traditional and contemporary elements, kakahu (costume) and the dynamics and parameters of theatre in performance.
Any 22 points in 200-level courses in Aotahi: School of Maori and Indigenous Studies or 44 points in 200-level courses in Arts, Education, Fine Arts, Music and/or Social Work, orby permission of the Head of School.
