Discrete mathematics is that part of mathematics not involving limit processes. It includes logic, the integers, finite structures, sets and networks.
This summer occurrence of MATH120 is intended for those students who have participated in the course previously. This is a waitlisted course with enrolment subject to Head of School approval - potential students should contact the Course Coordinator (Rob Culling) in the first instance.MATH120-22SU2 is not suitable for distance study.
1. MATH101 or MATH102 or EMTH118, or2. NCEA 14 Credits (18 strongly recommended) at level 3 Mathematics, or3. Cambridge: D at A level or an A at AS level in Mathematics, or4. IB: 4 at HL or 5 at SL in Mathematics, or5. approval of the Head of School based on alternative prior learning.

To obtain a passing grade in this course you must pass the course as a whole (which requires an overall mark of 50% or more) and score at least 40% in the final exam.
