This course is about how to manage quality with an emphasis on statistical quality control. It will cover a number of topics such as: an overview of quality management, statistical process control, design of experiments and six sigma quality. Workload for this course, in terms of class preparation, review, assessment, readings and examination preparation is about eight hours per week.
To gain knowledge of the history and evolution of the management of quality.To understand the principles and methods of Statistical Process Control, design of experiments and six sigma quality.To be able to apply these statistical tools for product and service quality control and improvement.To be able to use MINITAB for statistical analysis.

Relationship to Other Courses:This course is essential for an Operations Management major and is a useful elective for MS/OR and MGMT students.
