Description

This course builds on MUSA 141 to provide students with further technical skills, musical knowledge and understanding through performance on an instrument or with voice. Students will gain further knowledge of the repertoire for their particular instrument and undertake a concert performance at the end of the semester. This course is only available to students in the Mus.B.

Students will attend individual lessons and performance classes.

Learning Outcomes

Students who pass this course will have developed:
*  further technical performance skills in an instrument or voice;
*  further music understanding through performance in an instrument or voice;
*  an increased knowledge of repertoire for a specific instrument or voice;
*  improved public performing skills.

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Final Recital 70% Performance examination of approximately 15-25 minutes' duration, including technical exercises and at least one recital piece.
Participation 30% Participation in individual lessons and performance classes
