This course is designed to develop personal expression by investigating appropriate compositional techniques and procedures arising from the student's compositional initiatives.A brief study of some of the parameters of music. Development and discussion of student's own ideas and compositions.

.A portfolio of works, worth 60% of the final grade is to be handed in to the School of Music office no later than 5 pm on Friday 17 October 2008. No portfolios will be accepted after this time.Portfolios should contain a folder of finished work(s) that are well labelled, well bound, and well documented (tape recordings, and for those works which contain a visual or theatrical element, photographs or video).
