Description

Performance 4

Performance 4 (equivalent to two courses) in instruments or voice normally consists of the following:

Instruments:  (i) a lunchtime recital programme which includes one major work (eg, sonata) and preferably covers a wide range of styles, and (ii) a full recital programme which normally includes a concerto and does not include repertoire from the lunchtime recital programme.

Voice: (i) a lunchtime recital programme of 40-45 minutes duration which covers a wide range of styles and languages, and (ii) a full recital programe (50-60 minutes) which does not include repertoire from the lunchtime recital programme and which, preferably, should contain at least one song cycle.

Programme notes are to be provided for both recitals.

Assessment Due Date Percentage  Description
Lunchtime Recital 40% Instruments: Lunchtime recital which includes one major sonata and preferbly covers a wide range of styles. Classical instrumentalists are expected to include a major sonata. Voice: Lunchtime recital of 40-45 minutes duration, which covers a wide range of styles and languages.
Full Recital 60% Instruments: Full recital of 40-45 minutes duration which includes a concerto and does not include repertoire from the lunchtime recital programme. Voice: Full recital of 50-60 minujtes which does not include repertoire from the lunchtime recital and which, preferably, should contain at least one song cycle.
