Description

Computers, Minds and Logic

Would an artificially intelligent computer be conscious or would there be “no one at home” inside it? Is consciousness a physical phenomenon at all? What is computation, and how do computers work?  Could a computer be rational? What is rationality, and how does it relate to logic? What is it to mount a logical argument for a certain conclusion? These are the questions that will be investigated in this course.
