Description

The treatment of electricity and magnetism from observed phenomena through to the Maxwell equations in integral form; magnetic and dielectric properties of materials.

Prerequisites

PHYS114 or PHYS115 or PHYS116
MATH105 or MATH106 or MATH108 or MATH116. These prerequisites may be replaced by a high level of achievement in NCEA (Bursary, prior to 2004) Physics and Mathematics with Calculus, or
an equivalent background to be determined in each case by the HOD.
