Description

Execution and write-up of selected laboratory experiments.

Prerequisites

(1) Either (PHYS282 and 22 points from PHYS221-224) or (PHYS285 and 30 points from PHYS201-204 including either PHYS202 or PHYS204). (2) MATH103 or MATH109 or EMTH119.  RP: MATH201

Assessment

The course is marked out of 120 (assessment breakdown above is as %), which you can think of as 10 marks per week for 12 weeks.  

65 marks for submitted reports and subsidiary files for experiments as listed in the Choice of Experiments section of the course outline.

15 marks for oral presentation of a project you have undertaken, in the middle of Term 4.

40 marks for a formal report in the style of a scientific paper on the project.  This is due at the end of Term 4.
