This course equips students with the advanced research skills required to investigate and address complex project management challenges in Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond. Students will learn to formulate purposeful research questions, design robust methodologies, and critically engage with academic and industry literature to support evidence-based project decision-making. Emphasis is placed on both qualitative and quantitative research approaches, with attention to ethical research practice, cultural safety, and the integration of Maori and Pacific worldviews into research design, data collection, and analysis. Students will explore a range of paradigms and develop culturally responsive methodologies that honour diverse knowledge systems, including matauranga Maori. Throughout the course, students will apply analytical tools to interpret research data, communicate insights through well-structured reports, and present their findings effectively to varied audiences. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to undertake applied research projects that demonstrate methodological rigour, critical thinking, and cultural competence within project environments.
