The goal of this special topic course is to provide students with an opportunity to develop their research, critical analysis, synthesis, and presentation skills in the context of the design of sports equipment and the impact of technology upon sport. Students will source data from research archives, standards, and regulatory bodies and use this develop their understanding of the sports equipment design process. Students will be introduced to case studies, including the impact of technological developments, and the role that product designers, engineers, and governing bodies take within the development of new products.
Approval of Head of School required.
