Description

The Industry-Engaged Group Research Project course provides students with the opportunity to lead and deliver a complex applied psychology research project in collaboration with a community or industry partner. Across two semesters, students will co-design, implement, and evaluate an intervention or solution that applies psychological literacy and frameworks to a defined issue. Students will work in teams, supported by workshops, coaching, and feedback from academic staff and external stakeholders. Each student will also contribute individual work, including a research-informed rationale, reflective portfolio, and documentation of professional practice. The course supports the development of professional capabilities such as leadership, cultural responsiveness, ethical decision-making, and advanced communication. Students will engage in sustained critical reflection and apply Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in real-world contexts. Students in the BPsycSc(Hons) choose either this course (industry-engaged group research) or PSYC470 Research Project to complete their honours research project.
