The Master of Public Health is designed to develop the public health capabilities of students, and to combine these with the skills and knowledge they bring from their education or professional background. In this course, students explore concepts of health and well-being as they relate to culture, providing a critical approach to understanding health status, approaches and movements within Aotearoa/New Zealand. Students will be encouraged to reflect on the role and importance of culture in a broad sense, drawing upon Maori health as a case of the inter-relationships, principles and strategies for action.
