Description

This course introduces students to a range of methods of sociological inquiry. These include both quantitative and qualitative research methods with a focus on life stories and survey research. The course offers students the opportunity to gain skills as social researchers. These include experience in research ethics, interviewing, analysis and survey design. By the end of the course students will have an understanding of the theoretical, practical and ethical considerations in social research.

Prerequisites

45 points of SOCI at 200-level or 30 points of SOCI with a B average or better; OR 45 points in 200-level SOCI and HLTH combined; alternatively students with at least a B average in 60 points in 200-level courses in related subjects may be admitted by approval of Head of Ddepartment.
