Description

An introduction to the provision of welfare services in Aotearoa/New Zealand, this course offers students an opportunity to examine social, economic and political factors that have influenced current welfare systems. Tools will be taught to develop a framework of analysis for social service provision. The first part of the course addresses basic organising concepts of welfare, using historical and contemporary case studies. In the second part, major service areas are expanded upon and analysed in reference to delivery issues.
