This course will provide students with an understanding of prevention, treatment, management and rehabilitation of acute and chronic sports injuries, essential for sports coaches. The injury risk to special population groups such as children, adolescents, and female athletes will be highlighted.
By the end of this course, successful students will be able to:1. Describe the role of a sports coach in preventing and managing sports injuries2. Describe the injury healing process and sport injury mechanisms3. Identify injury risks and create strategies for the injury prevention4. Apply principles of sports injury rehabilitation and prescribe rehabilitation exercises5. Demonstrate the ability to strap upper and lower limb joints to prevent sports injuries.
Any 60 points at 100 level from any subject, orany 15 points at 100 level from SPCO or SPRT.
Students must attend one activity from each section.
